Today's G20 London Protest - It Ends Here

TODAY WAS THE DAY!

Ok so I managed to sneak a lunch break for 15 minutes and head down to the protests (if anyone is familiar with the area I work in Liverpool Street, so the Bank of England is a 2 minute walk). What can I say? You already know my opinion of the idiots who are protesting.

There's no point in the g20 london protests!

And what kind of people did I see? Would you be surprised if I said drunk students? Its a sad fact that those students are the kids who are going to be applying for the trading graduate schemes on my trading floor. This is such hypocrisy don't you think? I mean, even if you don't agree with my point of view you have got to admit this is crazy?

Anyway, the place was packed.  I can't really describe the feelings there - the atmosphere was a mix between a carnival and a football riot. I saw a few famous faces - including Russell Brand and I saw a few disturbing things (a group of rough teenagers covering their faces and shouting loud comments).

The people who were protesting don't have a clue about economics. They don't have a clue about how markets function.

And most importantly, they don't have a clue about how important I am in society.

Yes you heard me right - without me and my fellow bankers you wouldn't have stable prices for anything - from bread to oil. And what about your retirement? Let me tell you something, without me you would be screwed. Which is why when I saw a couple of houligans smashing the windows of RBS it makes me so angry.

Idiots.

I was there protesting and although I am not an economist (thank God) I do have more than a clue about economics. I know that economics must be based on ecology to work properly; I know that real work increases the level of order in the environment and society, and that work that decreases that order is anti-work. I know that true value is optimal quality of life for all. And I know that the debt credit system, and the new instruments, have screwed up royally.

  2. to say none of the protesters were aware enough to have delved into economic theories is ridiculous dear.
thank God some people came out of their tv filled living rooms and air conditioning to relay their thoughts on a G20 summit of any sort.
for a world controlled by greed, we are lucky to be alive on their planet.. we have but a short time here and have little time to do what we should to leave it a better place for the people in the future.
this does not include more taxation on emission of carbon, which we as carbon lifeforms will tend to emit.
there is taxation of our bodies and minds going on and finally some people spoke out about how we are being pushed from place to place seeking jobs they provide for us since they are buying every corporation.
are we to all work for the government to have a job one day? does anyone realize that we wouldn't have a government if everyone worked for them? they are supposed to work for us and should all be fired for ignoring our wishes for far too long.
too divisive nancy pelosi said, yes dear it definitely is that.

Why does the desk have so much freedom? If you put a Ferrari f430 (which Im thinking of buying by the way) in front of an 18 year old kid you think he won't ride it?

@Kelly - "thank God some people came out of their tv filled living rooms and air conditioning to relay their thoughts on a G20 summit of any sort."

Ill give you this, I am glad that people find that they can have a unified voice. The problem arises when people who really don't understand feel the need to break RBS windows, climb in and steal computers.

    There's no need
